Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has issued an executive order mandating the immediate commencement and completion of all outstanding pensions, gratuities, and related entitlements for all verified pensioners in the state.
Yusuf Sanda, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said in a statement that the decision was a reflection of the governor’s compassion and commitment to the welfare of senior citizens who have served the state diligently.
Governor Kefas insisted that Taraba State must honour “those who have dedicated their lives to public service”, stressing that their dignity was non-negotiable. Attending to their welfare was the moral duty of government, he explained.
According to the statement, a special outreach team will be deployed to all local government areas, wards, and villages to locate and document pensioners who are alive but incapacitated, ensuring that their entitlements are paid without any difficulties.
The statement added that no administrative obstacles would be tolerated in this process and urged all pensioners to remain calm, assuring them that the payment process was being prioritised and handled with urgency.
